Cool comfort - See anaca studio's collection in a new light

COLOUR IS A POWER THAT DIRECTLY INFLUENCES THE SOUL” - Wassily Kandinsky

Earlier this year, we invaded the beautiful house of Honto Architecture to shoot our range and show off our Camille sofa in a new light. This modernist-inspired home designed by Damien Lui provides an elegant yet relaxed setting that perfectly complements the furniture’s style.

We see no need to cocoon oneself in dark colours and hibernate over the cooler months. Instead, why not liven the mood with some fresh takes on classic pieces.

“I was inspired by a fresh palette and wanted to dress the Camille sofa in a lighter colour to show its versatility. While I love the more masculine and luxurious vibes of the classic Navy blue, this fresh green gives the Camille a gentler, more relaxed character.”

Hope you enjoy the new vibes!

From a designer’s perspective, I’ve enjoyed playing with colour and context to reframe Anaca Studio’s range, which is exceptionally adaptable.” Anne-Claire Petre.

The story behind Elliot and Zoe

I recently had a chat with one of my lovely clients who asked about the origins of the names of a couple of Anaca Studio products.

In June/July 2012, I was working on two new designs that shared similar style and finishes: a handsome coat stand and a versatile side table. When the time came to name the products it felt natural that they needed to come from somewhere close to me: family. Elliot and Zoe are my sister's children, so my nephew and niece. Elliot was 11 at the time, and growing up fast and tall, whilst Zoe was still little and much shorter than her brother. The names just seemed perfectly suited to my designs!

Since I live in a different country to my family back in France, the furniture I design often becomes an extension of them here in Australia. I think they're all pretty proud of that!

Looking back at "Considered Aesthetics - An Autumn showcase" April-June 2017

From April to June 2017, we got the chance to collaborate with Elizabeth Bull from One Fine Print to open a temporary shop in Fitzroy. We were both thrilled the see how beautiful our products worked together and inspired by the amazing comments we received.

We are now both back to our busy busy studios but don't hesitate to get in touch!

Here's a video from our opening night and a few images of the collaboration.

Till next time.
